Pangaea FAQ

What is Pangaea?

Whether its celebrating the end of exams or term, Pangaea is the Official University of Manchester event. Twice a year in January and June the entire Students' Union with all the Manchester Academy buildings takes over to host the legendary all night festival.

Where can I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets at the UMSU box office. Online ticket sales will begin shortly.

My friend isn't a student can I bring them?

Manchester students can bring one non student on their card.

Can non-students buy tickets?

No. Sorry we are a NUS event but you can come with a Manchester student friend.

Do you have a press release?

Yes, drop us an email to pangaea@umsu.manchester.ac.uk

Can I get money inside the event?

Yes, from the reception ground floor in the main building. There'll be maps up on the night

Are passouts allowed?

No, but you can expect some minimal flexibility.

Will the Safety bus be running on the night?

There will be a safety bus running from union direct to you door all night for just £1. p.s. The Safety Bus will take you home to your door every night, leaving from the Students' Union in term time. Priority for use is given to single women, single men, and then people travelling in groups. — More on the safety bus.

When is last entry?

This has not yet been confirmed, but is likely to be 2 hours before the event ends.

How can I get involved?

We usually start looking for people in September/October for the January Pangaea, and in February/March for the June Pangaea. Join our mailing list to find out more

Where is the first aid point?

There are first aiders in each building.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of wet weather, some outside surprises may be moved to covered areas, but as our venues are inside buildings, there are no worries about mud or volumes of people. Just relax and enjoy the night.
